Join young adults from all over Dallas and be a part of a very special mitzvah. Our first night of challah-baking is this Tuesday, September 7th. We will then deliver the challot to elderly Jewish residents across the city on Wednesday — just in time for Rosh Hashanah!

KneadIt, a new program of the Intown Chabad, aims to provide participants the opportunity to bond with each other, bake challah and deliver the goodies while developing relationships with Jewish elderly individuals across the city.

Due to space and supply limitations, we will be meeting at North Dallas Chabad instead of the uptown location. Please contact Michelle Weinberg or Becky Tanenbaum with questions. See you there!

    • Tonight 8:30PM
    The 9th of Av is one of the most serious Jewish fast days of the year, it is a full fast like Yom Kippur and it begins at sundown Tonight (Monday night). We will be having the traditional reading of Eicha (lamentations) followed by a very powerful film entitled “Hiding and Seeking” which follows an observant Jewish fathers concerns that his children are being radicalized. The film brings up very important issues in regards to hate, tolerance and Jewish reactions to the non jewish world in an era where they experienced a Holocaust. BYOP Bring Your Own Pillow, the custom is to sit on the floor during the most sad day as in the time of mourning.


    Tuesday night 7:45 PM Mincha in Tefillin (no class) and Break-Fast
    Traditionally, the 9th of Av, is the only weekday which one does not put on Tefillin or a Tallit during the morning services. Join us for the afternoon service at 7:45 as we will put on Tefillin and read the Torah. We will then finish off the Fast day with the evening services in time to break the fast at 9:02PM  Breakfast over Bagels, Lox and Cream cheese. Please RSVP by replying in you will be joining us for Break-Fast Thanks!

    - Connect Jewishly
    - Volunteer some time to visit a senior citizen in a home, we can help with that
    - Study Torah, you can do it on your own- online or at our Tuesday night classes, or you can arrange a 1 on 1 with Rabbi Zvi.
    - Celebrate Shabbat more often, We have Dinners twice a month.
    - Give Charity –  The Intown Chabad depends completely on local support, please consider making an end of year donation here
    - Repair relationships at home
    - Light Shabbat Candles
    - Lay Tefillin more often
    There are so many ways we can improve this world and our selves in 2010!!!

The kick off event, entiteled ” A women’s intuition ” will be a tribute to Rivky Holtzberg, who was killed in Mumbai a year ago while working at the Chabad house there. Please join us for Wine, Chocolate and some great learning. The class will be presented by Rishi Gurevich of Chabad in Arlington. Host committee Drew Berliner, Becky Tanenbaum and Chelsea Sinclair.
